Cafeteria Food

I am a 7thgrader at Edna Brewer Middle School and I have been asking our students what they thought about our school cafeteria. The reason why I have been interviewing people is because I want to know what they think about their cafeteria food. Here are the 3 questions I asked our students. Do you think our cafeteria food is healthy? What types of food would you like to have? And do you like how the system works? I was hoping to get people’s opinion of the food and I got many different answers, for example ……
The first person I interviewed is a 7th grader who enjoys our cafeteria. Her name is Cathy. Here are some of her thoughts about the food,” I think the food is healthy. Well it depends on the food like there is a salad bar which is healthy, but there is also some oily food like pizza. I love to eat sushi, rice, and noodles so I would love to have those for lunch. I do like the way the system works but sometimes the line is really long and takes forever to get my food. “
The second person I interviewed is also a 7th grader named Jazmyne. She said many interesting things about our cafeteria food. She said, “I don’t think the food is healthy to the students because it has a lot of oily and greasy stuff, the types of food I would like to eat in the cafeteria are foods that are really healthy and tasty. I think the system that they have in the cafeteria is good but sometimes there is some misunderstandings.”
The last person I interviewed was Warren, also a 7th grader. Here are his opinions about the food. He said, “Actually the food is quite healthy, but the food tastes bad, because adults don’t know what children like and give us nasty food. I would like to have Vietnamese noodles, or soul food, something different that our cultures usually don’t eat. And I don’t think the system is good because the lines are really long and it takes forever to get food.
The students that I spoke to think that it pretty healthy except for one person, but they want to have more types of food. We will solve this problem in the future so our students will be more pleased with the food in the cafeteria. We would try to get foods that our students like.
