Lockers, to use, or not to use?
Today, I decided to find out if there were other kids like me that absolutely hate the fact that we cannot use our lockers during passing periods. Thus preventing us from getting books needed for certain classes if we happened to forget them, which means teachers = L. So I walked around Edna Brewer Middle School and asked local students about what their opinions were of using lockers during passing periods.
My question was:
1. Do you think you should be able to use your locker during passing periods?
The first person that I have interviewed was Feng, a 7th grader. He said. “ We should definitely be able to use our lockers because, as we are now in middle school with many classes, we have a lot more textbooks to carry around. Lockers are very useful, it’s like they’re lifting so much weight off your shoulders, literally!
The second person I interviewed was Artijane, another 7th grader. Artijane's opinion about using lockers was, “Lockers shouldn't make us tardy since most of our classes are really close to each other, but people that are still tardy with this privilege should not be given any mercy with consequences.”
The third person I interviewed was Harold, a 7th grader at EBMS. He said lockers should be allowed for people that tend to forget books or not enough strength to carry such a large and heavy amount of textbooks around you all the time. He says I really think only being allowed to use your locker 3 times between 6 classes and is really unfair.
All I know is, if I was Ms. Marantz, and I read this, I’d at least give a chance to the students and see if this change would be for the better or worst.
